Adam's Favorite Marketing Tactic: Influencer Marketing
While I have many favorite marketing tactics the one that I'm most interested in right now is influencer marketing. Sure, people say this has run it's course. While I don't necessarily fully disagree with them, I do not think it's run it's course in Des Moines, or Iowa, or the world for that matter.
Say you own a restaurant. There are plenty of so called "foodies" in your town that may not have a "large" following by Beyonce standards, but they have somewhere between 1,000 and 10,000 followers on various social channels. Just imagine if you reached out to them and said you'd give them five free meals if they posted their thoughts and experiences on those social channels? What if you had a decent social following yourself and you posted this as an event for these meals? Benefits both parties, right?
Or perhaps you're a personal trainer trying to build your client base. You do some research on Instagram and send DM's to every body builder, workout enthusiast, or runner and tell them you'll give them five free workouts made by you! Put them through the ringer and they share it with their followers.
Influencer marketing has been around for several years now, but I still believe it's an untapped and not often thought about resource to your small business.
